Wow! So the sonic post is getting reblogged again; pretty amazing how that always kind of happens.

Update TL;DR: started working new in SF, don’t have a lot of time to do personal work and updates, want to do more dumb shit like the sonic poster and #1 hat gif.

I guess I’ll kind of use this post as a sort of update about me:

I’ve been very quiet lately here, but for good reason: I’ve started a awesome new job in SF, making 3D characters. I’ve already been there a month, and its been awesome. The deadlines are gonna be pretty crunchy, but I’d like to believe I’d manage.

As for this place and updates, because I’ve been working I just haven’t had time for personal work. I have definitive plans to finish that Dragon Quest model, and hopefully start working on something new from there.

The sonic and kirby posters I made a year ago are pretty funny to me still, and I would love to get back in and do more dumb stuff like that. I made the smitty werberjagermanjenson model and that was great too. I would love to get into doing more stuff like that more often, but with long work days and commuting, who knows.

If you been following me, cheers. I feel like I’ve come a long way already since working on something like Maestros, and this past few months have been pretty awesome for me in terms of my own personal growth and emotional situation.

Hope to have something cool soon! Hopefully! :/

These are Teutonian units I’ve done. You may have already seen them before but a new one did right at the start of the year was the Robomeister. 

Programs used: Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush, and for some units, dDO. Marmoset Toolbag for final renders.

hahahah so i finally finished that creature box dude! what a trip! seriously. what a journey. pretty happy with it, but you just gotta move on sometimes.

programs used: zbrush for sculpting, 3dcoat for retop, xnormal for baking, photoshop for textures, maya for lowpoly/rigging, and marmoset toolbag 2 for final presentation.

hey guys, here’s some actual 3d stuff! I’ve been doing a lot for the Maestros since the beginning of the year. Did a lot of characters which I’ll have some shots of soon, but since most of the characters are pretty much done for the GDC build, I was asked to make some props, and here’s a shot of them! They’re gonna be used for some 1v1 maps, so should be cool! 

My process was the same as ever: Make meshes in maya -> Zbrush -> Low poly -> Texture in Zbrush. Pretty simple!

GDc is definitely coming up soon, so maybe I’ll see some of you guys there! I’ll be at the polycount meet up and wandering around the floor, and you can the Maestros at GDC play!
